CHAOS!!! Ashley DeYoung Photography :: Augusta GA portrait photographer :: Nashville TN wedding photographer

Lawdy Mercy, I’m SO behind on everything! I’m trying to catch up on editing photos, uploading photos, emailing, burning DVDs, mailing prints, ordering products, traveling, planning my wedding, moving 400 miles away…WHEW! I’m a busy girl.

My life obviously has turned to chaos. I’m getting married in 4 weeks in Savannah, GA. I’m also moving a few days before I get married from Franklin TN to Augusta GA. I’m also shooting some more weddings & sessions on my free weekends, attending 4 showers for myself in different cities, and hand making my invitations. I’m insane.

Here is a sneak at my invitations. They are grey & ivory on pearlized paper. I designed the monogram & invitation, designed the labels, response cards, reception cards, picked out the paper, printed them, cut them, made the cushion, bows, brooches & glued them with help from my mom of course! 🙂

I’ve done some sessions recently, some of which I’m sad, because I can’t post the pics yet…those brides-to-be will have my head if I do! 🙂

Here are some sessions I’ve been doing…

Baby Callan in South Carolina:

I love working with this little guy. He’s gotten so big!

The Wedding in South Carolina:

An Engagement Session:

A 9 month session:

OK, I’m tired of uploading. More to come later!

Peace,

Summer trip almost over :: Ashley DeYoung Photography :: Augusta GA and Nashville TN portrait photographer

A little time at the beach…

I think this is my favorite image from the trip.
There’s a calm that is experienced by the ocean. It has the ability to bring peace to the soul, heal the heart and tame the wild. It’s quite an amazing experience to sit and watch a storm roll up on the beach.

I loved how he looks worn out from digging in the sand all day.

Watching the boats come in. Pure joy.

Swimming in jeans at the beach…

“Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone.”

Heading home Saturday…then things are going to get a little crazy!

Key West :: Ashley DeYoung PHotography :: Augusta GA wedding photographer Nashville TN portrait photographer

I’m sitting here on the balcony of this boutique hotel that I’m staying at…called the parrot key resort in Key West.

It’s actually quite nice and stunning here. The water is crystal clear!

I’m exhausted. It’s hard to sleep unless I’m in my bed. But, this hotel bed is mighty comfortable.

I am looking forward to being married and not living out of a suitcase. I never feel completely put together. I’m so scatterbrained when I pack for a trip, that I end up forgetting half of my things…or I never unpack from the last trip and just use the same stuff. I’m a mess.

It’s incredibly quiet and peaceful here. It’s amazing when you have a day completely filled with noise and chaos and then you find that moment of silence…it’s the most overwhelming calm I have felt in a long time. My heart feels rested.

It’s been a stressful few weeks for me and I’m sure more stress will come when I return home. I’m behind on photography work, wedding planning, packing for my big move and a million other things in life. I’ve got 2 months to have 3 showers…a wedding…a move…another shower.

But life is still beautiful…even more beautiful down here. I hope to capture some great photos…

Vacation’s over :: Ashley DeYoung Photography :: Nashville TN & Augusta GA portrait photographer

Rainy day.

I had a really good trip. It was great to get away and spend an extended amount of time with my boyfriend. I left Friday afternoon and headed through North Carolina to Knoxville TN to visit a my roommate from college that just moved there. I spent two days there, and returned to Nashville yesterday afternoon.

In Knoxville, I visited my friend’s stable.

Took a few photos around the farm.

She washed the horse.

While I snapped photos of cows.

Her grandfather was there and wore the coolest worn boots.

I rode this. It was on my 30 before 30 list. I was nervous & the horse could sense it.

Hoping the rain will hold off for a photo session today. If it does, the lighting is absolutely perfect! 🙂

I’ll upload some session photos later!

This is my favorite spot in “Mr. Moneybag’s” new house. “The Window Seat”

I can’t wait till he gets the internet so I can blog there.

I was going through some recent photos and edited a few more.

Noah at 6 months old. I think there’s something intriguing about square photos. I love seeing them 3 in a row on a wall.

I love doing baby portraits. They are so fun!

Not much happening here at the mobile studio. I’m still on vacation. I wasn’t feeling too great today, must have caught a bug, so I didn’t shoot anything. But I hope to spend the day tomorrow walking around downtown Augusta GA to shoot some photos with “Mr. Moneybags” since he is off work tomorrow through Monday!!

A little wedding montage for those looking for an Augusta Georgia wedding photographer or a wedding photographer in Nashville TN.

I’ll post some tomorrow.

The front porch :: Ashley DeYoung Photography :: Augusta GA portrait photographer Nashville TN wedding photographer

I’m sitting outside on the front porch of “Mr. Moneybags” new house. It’s down pouring outside. I’m watching the rain and drinking some wine. I decided it was a great idea to move his clothes to his new place today, only to find out that the rain would stop me in the middle of it. That’s ok. I decided those fudge brownies I bought on sale weren’t going to bake themselves, so I utilized my free time and broke in his new oven.

It’s kind of weird, as I sit here I think about a conversation I had with him a few months back. I told him that I wanted to have a big front porch, after we get married, with rocking chairs where I can sit and wait for him to come home, while drinking wine after a long day of photo shoots. I guess the weird part is that the things I’ve been dreaming about are finally happening. I know we are going to be married soon, I’m moving soon, I’m doing this photography thing, and he got a house with a big front porch with two rocking chairs.

I’ve always been someone who had big dreams, and I feel at my young age, I have accomplished a lot. It’s just crazy to be able to be within an arms length of your dream, able to touch it, but not quite there yet.

So here I am sitting on the front porch watching the rain slowly die down, drinking my wine, and patiently waiting for “Mr. Moneybags” to come home…I think it will feel more real when we are actually married.

No photo shoots this week or next. I’m still on vacation. But I will be photographing my trip! It’s been a while since I’ve shot for fun.

Summertime :: Ashley DeYoung Photography :: Nashville TN baby photographer & Augusta GA wedding photographer

I’m finally settling in on my 2 week vacation in SC/GA.

I came down here to help “Mr. Moneybags” move into his new house & deliver a special early birthday gift for him (Ms. Mabel).

It’s been an adventure here. I was so excited that I saved about $22 at Kroger using coupons, only to realize 5 hours after I came home that the freezer is blowing hot air and all of my chicken has dethawed.

Let’s just say, I’ve spent the past two days frying up chicken and freezing it, since you can’t refreeze raw chicken once it has thawed out.

The freezer still isn’t fixed.

I’ve also spent the past few days packing things up and slowly moving them from Aiken SC to Augusta GA by myself, while “Mr. Moneybags” works.

While I was at the new house waiting for my dinner to cook, I decided the walls needed some art. So I did what I do best…snap away.

I think I’m going to print these in large format and put them in black floating glass frames…most likely 12×12 or larger.

BTW Ms. Mabel loves her new home!

& “Mr. Moneybags” loves his new little kitten!

She’s a handful though.
